The Upper Rogue Wine Tour
This is about a 5 hour tour and we will see 3 unique wineries. You will see the Table Rocks, follow along the Rogue River and learn how a sign along a pioneer cemetery convinced a family to grow grapes here. We'll taste beautiful Viognier, Syrah and a gold medal winning Claret.
Agate Ridge Vineyard
I always love to start with Agate Ridge Vineyard on this tour. The tasting room is in the original 1910 farmhouse with views of Mount McLoughlin and the vineyard. They have a silver medal award Primitivo, Roussanne and a killer earthy Malbec.
Cliff Creek Cellars
We'll follow the Table Rocks and pass by ranches to Cliff Creek Cellars. Nestled within 70 acres of Bordeaux and Rhone varietals vines, the Garvin family truly loves what they do. It shows in their perfectly bottle aged wines. With winemaker Joe Dobbs you can't go wrong with any of the wines you choose. Their 2006 Claret won gold at the NY International Wine Competition and the just released Marsanne Roussanne is sublime.
A good ending is the newest winery along the Rogue River, Kriselle Cellars. We'll grab a table outside the beautiful log tasting room on the deck overlooking the vineyards and sip Viognier, Sauv Blanc, Cab Sauv and Tempranillo. If I was you, I would also be ordering the bacon wrapped, feta stuffed dates.
